alysha janmohamed Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Looking to go to San Diego for the first time. I usually use priceline, but I thought I'd try Hotwire. Dates are 8/26-8/30So far I came up with 4 star Downtown-Harbor Island Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant(s), Business center and High speed internet listed as customer favorite at 154/night and 4 star Gaslamp quarter with smoke free rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business center and High speed internet listed as customer favorite and "best value" at 162/nightAny idea what these 2 are?I'll definitely post and keep you up to date on what I get.
thereuare Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! The Downtown hotel is a match for both the Westin San Diego and the Westin Gaslamp Quartes (this latter hotel was previously named Weston Horton Plaza, and although it's name has "Gaslamp" in it, it's within the current boundaries of HOTWIRE's Downtown-Harbor Island zone) so either of these would be likely. Of the two, i think the Westin Gaslamp in the better guess, but some of the Tripadvisor information doesn't match up, so i'm not 100% confident in this guess. However, this is still our best guess since it's possible (probable??) that HOTWIRE is taking some 'stale' info from Tripadvisor, based upon when this property was named the Westin Horton Plaza (we've seen this type of behavior before)The Gaslamp property is a match for the Marriott Gaslamp so that would be our best guess for that one. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. alysha janmohamed Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Posted August 30, 2009 I ended up booking with airmiles for the trip and stayed at the Coronado (which is also a HOTWIRE hotel)Beautiful resort and lanscape, but it was a little remote and inconvenient to get out of.
