mellaly Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 New to this website - looking for bidding advice / strategy for a 3 or 4 star hotel at logan airport for one night, July 17. current reservations, which is cancellable, is for $276 per night. Maximum I would like to spend is $100 and I would appreciate a bidding strategy to achieve this using free re bid zones; I would prefer to initially try bidding at the 4 star level at the $100 maximum. My neighbor has used your site before and recommends you highly. Thanks so much for your help.
allybunnie Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 hi - just a quick addition to this post for my neighbor......I know she does not want to stay in any of the other zones as this is for an EARLY flight out of logan......we thought that 100.00 max was a good place to start & if it doesnt work after a day or so she can rethink her maximum bid amount....have also told her about using the PRICELINE link when she hopefully receives a bidding strategy....thanx again for this great site!!!
Liset Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 To maximize your free rebids for a 4* hotel at Logan up to $100 use this strategy:Select 4* LoganBid $65, if rejected add Brighton/Brookline...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline.Select 4* Logan and Medford...Bid $75, if rejected add Brighton...Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline.Select 4* Logan and South Boston...Bid $85, if rejected add Brighton...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline.Select 4* Logan and Medford and South Boston...Bid $95, if rejected add Brighton...Bid $100.Should you decide to rethink your maximum, use the same strategy but adjust the numbers up to your new maximum. (I start with my max and work back accordingly). For a 3*, you have the same rebid zones. Use the same strategy as above but replace 4* with 3* and adjust the numbers for whatever is your maximum for a 3*. As of this a.m., HOTWIRE lists a Logan 3* for $95 (amennities match the Sheraton Four Points so that would be the best guess), so I'd certainly keep the maximum below that. Also, I assume your back-up is an acceptable Logan property. But if not, the Hilton is currently offering a $269 unrestricted rate.Good luck! Please use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to begin your purchase.
allybunnie Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Thanx so much for helping my neighbor with the bidding stategy.....I am replying as she is away for a few days from her computer.....the biggest problem ended up being the HUGE price Logan charges for airport parking!!!! minimum for the economy lot was $18.00 a day...plus she didnt want to risk sharing a bed with her 17 yr old son doing priceline......the more I thought about it the less chance I thought there would be to get a win for the 4*'s at Logan based on the regular rates at the 4*'s...better back up plan arose for the Holiday Inn for approx 229.00 which included up to 10 days parking w/ 24 hr airport shuttle service!!!! probably would end up costing more than that to priceline the hotel & pay for parking!! Again thanx so much for taking the time to help.......
