Hi, I'm trying to get the Residence Inn Beverly Hills (courtyard would be ok too) for july 22nd to 25th (tues to fri).

I have bid using your PRICELINE link for $65, with zone west-hollywood/ bevery hills and was rejected.

I tried again by adding free re-bid zone Lawndale and $75 and was rejected again.

Do I have to wait 24 hours or is there another free re-bid I'm not seeing?

Would you suggest going up to $80, $85 or even more to have a chance to win? I'd like to have my hotel booked within the next 2 days...

Thanks!!! great forum!!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You are correct that you only have the one re-bid zones when bidding 2.5* in this area.

It's been very difficult to get a multi-nite stay at the Residence Inn... most wins here are during very slow times (which usually means weekends) and for individual nites.

Also, remember that the star rating you select is the minimum that you are willing to accept, so as you bid higher there is also a chance that you coudl be ugpraded to a higher rated property.

How high are you willing to bid? What is your gameplan if unsuccessful with PRICELINE?

Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.

I could bet up to 90$ but no more. I'm only really interested in the west-holl/bh area, and I like 2.5* hotels for the free internet, which is not often offered with better-rated hotels. But I'll take them if they're available!

My game plan if I'm unsuccesful with that plan is to spend more money cause I don't have a choice, but I won't like it...

Thanks for your help.

Rates at Bev Hills Residence Inn are high for your dates:

7/22 $229

7/23 $259

7/24 $229

When your 24 hour lockout period is over I'd suggest bidding to your $90 limit. $80 first, then add Lawndale at $90. If you get the ResInn at $90 that's still a great deal...more than 60% discount.

That wednesday is screwing me up! Why would a wednesday be more expensive than other week days?

Anyway, trying again in an hour. Do I have to start the whole process over, or can I go to the "my trips and request" link?

Tried again tonight. $80, no dice.

Added Lawndale, $90, rejected again!

I'm willling to go up to $100, but it's annoying.

Hollywood would be an acceptable area too (but not great). What hotel do you guys think I'd get if I added it for 2.5*?

I've posted another message up there. Would love some help.

It really depends upon how much you want the Beverly Hills-West Hollywood zone and the needs of your stay vs. budget.

HOTWIRE has what i believe to be the Hotel Angeleno for $134/nite, has a high TA rating with pretty good reviews, and Internet access is free :)

Would this work or would you prefer to try for something else?

I think I want location more. the intersection of W. Pico and rodeo is pretty much the best for me. I know I'm very particular ;-)

I'll go up to 100/110 tonight, see what happens. What do you think are my chances with that?

Nobody can quote chances. Let us know how your $100/110 bids go.

Alternatives to consider:

4* Hollywood ($110 is probably too low but worth a try)

3* Hollywood (probably Holiday Inn Walk of Fame)

3* Brentwood/Westwood (probably Hotel Angeleno, maybe for less than Angeleno's $134 rate on Hotwire)

Try splitting your bid. Bid to $110 for 2.5* for just your first two nights. Then try the same for just the last two night. Deal with the third night seperately.

I can't really say what you're chances are, but your maximum bid is still less than 50% of conventional rates at two of the 'known' 3* hotels that i checked and at 50% of the 2.5* property i checked. There's only a handful of hotels in this zone at the 2.5* and 3* levels, unlike the 4* level where there are many more possibilities.

Got the Best Western Carlyle Inn for $110. Hadn't heard of the hotel, not sure what to think about it.

there's free internet and breakfast, which is a good thing, but I've never really liked best western.

we'll see.

Congratulations on your win!

The hotel's website indicates that this property was recently renovated and the reviews look pretty good with some comments metnioning the 'great location'... so hpefully this should work well for your needs. Rates directly from the hotel for these nites average $182/nit, so it looks like a pretty good deal too.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add this property to the Priceline Hotel List.

Please let us know how you like the Best Western Carlyle, Benjh.

You said you wanted to be near Pico and Rodeo and this is at Pico and Robertson, 1.5 miles away...not bad. Also parking is only $10/night, which is low for this zone. The Residence Inn charges $22/night.

Hope it works out for you.
