greenfrog Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Hi AllI am currently bidding for the first time using PRICELINE. I note that the website says that the rooms are for two adults. Does that mean that if I am successful, I would be charged an additional fee upon arrival at the hotel for my daughter (aged 11) or are children free (if they sleep on the sofa bed.)Thanks everyone
powerplantop Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Hi AllI am currently bidding for the first time using priceline. I note that the website says that the rooms are for two adults. Does that mean that if I am successful, I would be charged an additional fee upon arrival at the hotel for my daughter (aged 11)That is possible but usually not. But you may be charged and extra fee for an extra bed.or are children free (if they sleep on the sofa bed.)Thanks everyoneThe room may not have a sofa.
thereuare Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 To add...HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy per room. So while it is usually a little more expensive than PRICELINE, you don't have to worry about the occupancy issue. For further information see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.What city, dates, and desired star level are you searching for? stoddmi Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I have a similar issue. I booked a hotel, and Priceline only asks for the number of adults per room.I have never used priceline before, and I have a 7 year old child. To make a long story short, I booked a room, and then found out there would be a surcharge for my son.Priceline said it was up to the hotel to determine the charge.. The hotel said it was up to Priceline to determine the charge. Ultimately I sent a message to Priceline corporate and am waiting to hear back.I feel like I should have read better, but it also seems that every other travel site asks about additional travelers (adult and child).I told priceline I did not want to get a refund but would like to get a different hotel that could accommodate all 3 of us. I will post there response.Anyone else experience this?Stoddmi
