Matthew Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 A little disappointed given the reviews I've heard of this place, but at least it's cheap and I only need a place to sleep one night. Priceline has been nice if I've needed to call the day I get there and it's absolutely horrible, so we'll see. Booked today, 6/7/08.Hotwire had 2*@$49 [probably this hotel], 2.5*@$68, 3.5*@159 [before taxes]S = Springfield (downtown)SS = South Springfieldmin = At which point the web site said that anything below that price had a small chance of being accepted.History:S min = 3@46, 2.5@47, 2@33SS min = 2.5@49, 2@493* = s@46, +ss@56, ++@662.5* = s@47, +ss@572* = ss@39 WON [should have tried for 33?]Signature Inn Springfield 2-starhttp://www.signatureinn.com/Hotel_Detail.asp?pHotelID=SJ1469Springfield3090 Stevenson DriveSpringfield, Illinois 62703217-529-6611Check-In Date:Wed, Jul 9, 2008 / After 03:00 PMCheck-Out Date:Thu, Jul 10, 2008 / 11:00 AMAmenities: Remote control TV w/ premium channels Telephone w/ messaging Radio Alarm Clock Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $39.00Subtotal: $39.00Taxes & Service Fees: $12.15Total Charges*: $51.15Retail rate: $79.99 before taxes, AARP,AAA@$72.99,STD@$99.99Example retail room: [1 or 2 double beds, smoking/non all the same price]Non Smoking One Double Bed1 Dbl Bed-Wireless Internet Microwave-Fridge-Coffee-Iron-Hairdryer This guest room features a double bed, work area with free wireless internet access, microwave, refrigerator, 25 inch television with cable or satellite TV and a premium movie channel, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, hairdryer, free local calls, and alarm clock radio.Policies... 79.99 ~ Average Daily Rate79.99 ~ Total Stay * excluding taxGuarantee Guarantee to a valid credit card is required at the time of booking.Cancellation Reservation must be cancelled by 1 day prior to arrival by 3:00pm local hotel time to avoid penalty of one Nights Room Charge and tax.Taxes and Fees 6% Sales Tax per room, per night4% Occupancy Tax per room, per nightI noticed a lot of hotels were already sold out, so that's why I never got an acceptance. Looks like South Springfield has a lot of the nicer hotels, especially since it's a small area. I looked at a map on Streets and Trips 2008 and there were only 5 properties there [for future reference: Courtyard, Sleep Inn, Fairfield Inn, Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn and Suites]. I would recommend sticking to South Springfield if bidding to 2* or below [i will update this post if this hotel ends up being okay afterall].Moderators:Given that Southeast Springfield appears to no longer be a separate area for Priceline, can you update the list of hotels? It looks like Southeast is now apart of the downtown area, and South is a new separate area.@Matthew
