bxneurotic Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 2* in Downtown Atlantic Cityw/pool, restaurant, beach nearby, golf nearby, tennis nearby$69 for July 24
thereuare Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 This property has not yet been identified.I would be very careful purchasing an unknown 2* hotel in Atlantic City... a lot of the area is not that great as well as lots of unaffiliated motels which i would not want to stay in. The 3.5* hotel is more money, but presumed to be the Sheraton, and while not on the boardwalk nor does it have a casino, at least you're getting a name brand property (reviews are mixed, yet it's one of the higher rated hotels in the area, which says a LOT about the hotels in the area, and re-inforces my thoughts regarding the lower rated properties). If you are interested in the Sheraton Atlantic City it can be booked for $104/nite which would be cheaper than the HOTWIRE offer above (please use our Sheraton Atlantic City link should you choose to book direct)Let us know whatever you end up doing for this stay or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 I checked HOTWIRE Packages, this 2* is possibly the Howard Johnson Inn which gets very mixed reviews.
bxneurotic Posted July 3, 2008 Author Report Posted July 3, 2008 Thanks for the info!!I actually stayed at the Howard Johnson last year and it wasn't nearly as bad as the reviews I'd read. Some of the amenities were comically bad (like the swimming pool had been drained and filled with trash), but the room was actually large and clean, the location was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly.Rather than risk it though, I think I'm just going to opt for the Tropicana outright, since I can get a room on the boardwalk for $92 a night through Expedia. While virtually any other destination would be considerably cheaper through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, they don't seem to offer many 'deals' for Atlantic City!
