RedSox87 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 We started bidding on a 2.5* hotel in the Redondo-Manhattan Beach region a few weeks ago, but were unsuccessful until now. First bid $49: 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach --> rejected.Second bid $53: 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach & Lawndale: accepted and got upgraded to a 3* hotel. Not too happy with the free upgrade; parking costs are $16 but can't complain since prices on the Crowne Plaza start at $209.Price Per Room, Per Night: $53.00Taxes & Service Fees: $14.82Total Charges: $67.82And ofcourse we used the PRICELINE link!

Colfax Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 Not too happy with the free upgradeFor what it's worth, I think those great deals at the 2.5* Residence Inn Redondo Beach might be gone for now. A few weeks ago I tried bidding up to $55/2.5* for all sorts of dates---weekdays, weekends, single days, longer stays---and got nothing. I didn't want to bid higher than $55 and get upgraded. Since you got upgraded at $53 I see I was lucky. Not that Crowne Plaza is a bad place...but I wanted the Residence Inn.
