RobbieRob Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Hi! Me, my parents, and my sister will fly on Sunday, August 3rd, from DC to Vegas and want to stay in Vegas until Monday, than go to the Grand Canyon, and come back to Vegas from Tuesday till Thursday. From Tu till Th I will book the MGM. Grand But from Sunday till Monday I thought about booking a different hotel - it should be 4* and have a pool - is there any good offers online? I am thinking about an offer similar to the MGM one where you can book a room for just 72$/nite on their website? Thank you!
marcus321 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 72 a nite? is that the price you got from mgm? on the website i get quoted for 130 a nite.
RobbieRob Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 Yeah, you have to check out their special offers, and select the No Regrets offer - just 72 a night!
thereuare Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 RobbieRob,Almost all 4* hotels in Vegas have a pool... it's a question of how much you're willing to pay for a 'nice' pool.Monte Carlo is just $80/nite for your dates and has a very nice pool (although note there is construction going on next door to the Monte Carlo... but as there is all over Vegas)... Mirage is $120 and very nice as well. How much are you willing to spend for this nite of your stay?marcus321,If you need help with an upcoming stay please start a NEW TOPIC for your own stay.Thanks. RobbieRob Posted June 24, 2008 Author Report Posted June 24, 2008 Well, I was just wondering if there is a 4* Hotel with a very good price (about 80$) available. Was hoping for an offer similar to the MGM one - but if there isn't one, I am just going to book a hotel that I think is great on Expedia and pay a little bit more. What are your thoughts about the Caesar's Palace? Why is it so much more expensive than the other 4* Hotels (like MGM, Paris, New York New YOrk,...)?
bbbb Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Flamingo Las Vegas has a $80 rate booking direct for Aug 3rd. The Flamingo has a great pool but the rooms are just ok. If you sign up for Harrah's total rewards you have a good chance of a upgrade to a newly remodeled Go room witch are very nice. My choice on the strip is Planet Hollywood but the pool is a joke.
thereuare Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Some sites consider Caesar's a 5* hotel (i don't) but it is in the upper range of the 4* class. Regardless, rates are determined by individual hotel supply/demand, and this property could have a convention or large party booked for your date above and thereby increasing room rates relative to other properties (although this property does tend to post rates higher than their similarly rated counter parts)What is the hotel you intend to book thru Expedia (please use our link)If the rate is good, why not stay at the MGM Grand for both legs of your stay? bbbb Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 I have seen many rooms all the way up to one of their best suites at Caesar's and I would not pay more or go out of my way to stay there.
RobbieRob Posted June 28, 2008 Author Report Posted June 28, 2008 OK, I simply booked like you suggested with your Expedia link.Booked the Treasure Island for 89$/night.Hope we're going to like it!!! Any tips for the stay?
thereuare Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 Thanks for posting what you decided to do for this stay (even if it wasn't PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) and for using our Expedia link for your booking. As far as tips for the stay, just enjoy the strip and go casino hopping... at the very least visit the Wynn, Venetian, Palazzo to see some 5 star quality properties. Most hotels have 'something' to offer. If you are looking for a show, Mystere was the first Cirque du Solei show that i have seen and is still my favorite... i would try to get tickets if within your budget.
