Priceline Hotel: Laguna Beach Zone?

Looks like PRICELINE has a new zone for Laguna Beach which is not listed on any of the existing hotel lists I can find. Does anyone have experiencing bidding in this zone?

If you (or anyone else) is familiar with the area, do you know if this is a new area not yet convered, or is this zone a sub-set of a previous area?

Based on the existing lists, I believe this is a new area as none of the hotels in the existing lists would fall into this zone.

I'm not sure of this but it appears the former Dana Point-Laguna Beach zone has been split in two. The new zones are Dana Point-San Clemente and Laguna Beach.

Laguna Beach offers bidding to 2.5* and Dana Point-San Clemente goes to 4*. I don't recall the old Dana Point-Laguna Beach zone offering 4*, so either a former 3* there has been upgraded or some new 4* has joined PRICELINE.

Input from any South Orange locals is welcome.

I believe Laguna Cliffs Marriott has been upgraded fr 3* to 4* in Dana Point zone as of early 2007.

Assuming the Holiday Inn (Dana Point-San Clemente) on the hotel list is the one in San Clemente (there is also one in Laguna Beach), then I don't see any hotels in the existing list either that would fall into this category.

It will be interesting to see if they add some more hotels at higher * levels in the future - that is a really nice area with some excellent resorts.
