We are planning a new york trip july 22-27 and notice there is a 3.5 star on HOTWIRE which is a pretty good price compared to what is out there now. Any ideas what hotel this might be? It looks like it could be crown plaza manhatten which would work. Any help would be appreciated..Thanks

3.5 star $222 per night fitness center , business center, restraunt, high speed internet access review 3.5 out of 5 Times Square - Theatre District: Central area known for Broadway shows and great shopping 2 adults but I need 2 adults and 2 kids

If you are searching for 2 adults and this hotel (which does appear to be the Crowne Plaza) comes up and it doesn't come up for 2 adults/2 kids - which I'm not seeing it when I search for the latter - then that hotel has not signed an agreement to provide more than double (2 persons) occupancy to HOTWIRE customers.

I would like to stay in the 200 / night range and kids are 9 and 11. We would like to stay at or close to crowne plaza unless you know of a better place..Thanks

OK, i'll inquire... why do you want to be near the Crowne Plaza? Do you have friends staying there and want to be close to them or do you feel that it's the center of Times Square?

I ask because i strongly encourage users to expand their preferences beyond Times Square (as per this Hotels Near Times Square thread.

I would think - and thereuare can confirm whether this is right or not - you could search for 2 adults and then purchase the HOTWIRE listing that looks like it might be the Crowne Plaza. HOWEVER, if you show up there with four people (you could say you couldn't find someone to babysit the kids?) they would have every right to give you a room with only one bed, since you did not indicate four people on your reservation, nor were they offering a room on Hotwire that could occupy 4 (since the hotel only comes up when you search for 2.)

I do agree with thereuare that I'd look elsewhere beyond Times Square if you don't have a particular reason to stay there.

no particualr reason for time square other than I think the kids would like stay on on a floor up very high overlooking time square. They have never been to a city like this before. I have been several times but it has been 10 years. I am certainly open to suggestions and I appreciate the responses

While you may get everything you're looking for from your HOTWIRE purchase, to expect the above may be too much to ask for.

PRICELINE and HOTWIRE bookings are for standard rooms. There are buidlings everywhere in NYC, that even in the tallest buildings, most rooms don't have a view, and even fewer have a view of Times Square.

I wouldn't be choosing the zone based upon the expectation of a specific view from the room, and given your desire for quad occupancy, whereas most NYC rooms are notoriously small and designed for a maximum of double occupancy, i think it would benefit you to expand the zones you're willing to accept.

Any of the midtown zones should be fine, although there are a some 3* properties in the MTE zone which may be a bit too far east if traveling with children (10 minute walk to subway, which may get to a bit bit much for them after a couple of days)... but i'm not sure how much choice you'll have in the matter as quad occupancy in NYC for under $200 currently looks like it may be tough for the above dates.

I found a 3* in midtown east that is $263/night with suite, fitness center, restraunt, kitchenette, fitness center, high speed internet access. Which do you think that is?

The above is a match for the Beekman Tower so that would be our best guess.

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? (such as staying in one hotel for 7/22-7/24 and another hotel for 7/24-7/27)
