Wilton Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Have an early morning flight and only wanted to bid the airport. Started at $41.00 for 3* and was rejected. Then dropped to 2.5* and raised bid to 44, received Clarion Hotel Portland Airport. One night, July 16, 2008. Have not stayed there before but it looks acceptable and a good deal at the price.

Colfax Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 You deserve a medal, Wilton, for winning a 2.5* in the PDX Airport zone. They're difficult to win due to low Priceline rates at some of the 3* hotels in the zone. Despite a large number of 2.5* hotels in the PDX zone (Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard, Country Inn and Suites, Springhill Suites, La Quinta Suites, Clarion) you're the first in BetterBidding's 5+ years of existence to report winning a 2.5* hotel there! Until now 2.5* bids have consistently been upgraded to 3*.I usually avoid the Clarion brand but the Clarion at PDX is less than 10 years old and gets good reviews (4.5 out 5.0 on Expedia). It was built as the Silver Cloud Inn Airport and switched to Clarion brand a couple years later. Thanks for the post. Enjoy your stay!
