First time user & wish to get some help from members!!! :)

Family of 4 (2 kids ages 2 & 3) is planning to spend 4 days somewhere close to Mall of America between June 2 - June 5.

If I choose 1 room, is it possible to get one with 2 full size bed?

Where should I submit this request? During check-in in hotel?

Since I'm totally new to this, I really want to find out the answer before going on my first bid.

BTW, is starting bid $40 too low or reasonable? Or should I go for $35?

Thank you!!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. Usually hotels do their best to accomodate users, sometimes there's an additional fee involved to get a room with two beds (if a 'standard' room at the hotel is a room with only one bed and two bedded rooms cost more even at their own website)... but sometimes there just isn't availability and the hotel would be within their right (and honoring their end of the deal) if they only gave you a room with one bed). For additional information see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

If you're not willing to take the risk above (many users choose to), HOTWIRE may be an option since they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, guaranteeing sleeping accomodations for everyone included in your search.

On HOTWIRE you can input "2 adults, 2 children" and only be offered hotel rooms with two beds.

For your dates Hotwire has several 2 bed options near Mall of America:

3* Bloomington Central $49

2* Bloomington Central $44

3* Bloomington West $55

You can probably win a 3* on Priceline for less than Hotwire's $49, but the Priceline room won't have a two bed guarantee.

If you bid $40 or so for a 2.5* on PRICELINE you'll probably win the Holiday Inn on West 94th. I've stayed there many times and they always give me a room with two beds. It's not guaranteed you'll win that hotel but it comes up more often than any other 2.5* in the zone.
