Alan_UK Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Hi, Looking to book 2 rooms on the strip for Wednesday 3rd to Monday 8th September (5 nights). Hotwire has a 3* Central strip available for $83 per night. I think it is Bills Saloon which we quite like the look of. It looks to be a good price, about $20 per room per night cheaper than booking direct so 20% discount. Question is, is it Bills Saloon and if so, how certain can I be that it is? Also, is this a good price or is it worth waiting till nearer the time for better deals? The stay covers a Friday and Saturday night. Most important requirements are:Location on strip or very nearGood quality - rather pay more than stay in a shabby run down hotelGood clean rooms with comfortable bedsCan live without a poolFacilities on Hotwire are:CasinoRestaurant(s)High-speed Internet AccessThanks AlanBristolEngland
dahammer Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome!I've never stayed here, but a colleague has done so and he has affirmed all of the following about Bills Gambling Hall (formerly Barbery Coast):Location on strip or very near (the best feature)Good quality - rather pay more than stay in a shabby run down hotelGood clean rooms with comfortable bedsCan live without a pool However, when I check HOTWIRE's Packages, Bill's Gambling Hall has the following amenities: Casino, Restaurant(s), High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby.
Alan_UK Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Posted May 10, 2008 Hi dahammer, Thanks for the reply. I am not sure now, thought I had identified the hotel but as you say, Bills Saloon should also have Golf and Tennis nearby so I don't know which hotel this is. I can't find any other Central Strip 3 stars without a pool so I am stuck. Can anyone identify this hotel:3* Central StripCasinoRestaurant(s)High-speed Internet AccessAverage rate $83 for 5 nights Wednesday 3rd to Monday 8th SeptemberThanksAlan
Alan_UK Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Posted May 10, 2008 Hi, Don't worry, I found a better deal 4* for a bargain $99, see my next post.
Alan_UK Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Posted May 10, 2008 Hi, as per my previous post 3* cenral strip, I needed 2 rooms in a decent hotel for 5 nights icluding a Friday and Saturday, 3rd to 8th September. I had been searching for two rooms but by mistake did a search for one room. What pops up but a 4* South strip for $99 a night, facilities were:CasinoFitness CentrePool(s)Restaraunt(s)Business CentreHigh Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesTried searching for 2 rooms, didn't appear so went back to 1 and decided to take a chance. What did I get, MGM Grand for $495 plus tax ($546). This is half price and what a bargain. Did the search again and price went up by $3 to $102 but I got the second room as well. I have 2 rooms in a good hotel for 5 nights for $1100 with tax, only a few dollars more than the 3* that I was thinking of booking. I am very pleased and I now have my Vegas part of the trip sorted, 2 nights at the Belagio then 5 nights at the MGM. Vegas, here we come.
thereuare Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear you're happy with the results and were able to book the second nite as well.I stayed here recently, and while i wasn't a fan of the property before my stay based upon its size, i left with a favorable impression and would be happy to return. The room was clean and larger than a typical vegas hotel room.A note to you and anyone else reading this thread... when making multiple purchases, please use our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for each purchase.
