NurseER Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 I'm traveling with my 2 daughters from June 7th to June 22nd for a workshop at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. We are looking for a place with a kitchen. I see that the Residence Inn is across the street from the TPAC. I've read mixed reviews. I need to get started on the bidding thing, but hesitant on getting started.I've read all the "getting started folders" etc. I just need some guidance on this long of a stay and what the chances are of staying in 1 place for this many nights...16. I really would like to stay at the $80 range or below if possible. Any advice for this beginner here??Elizabeth
dahammer Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 HOTWIRE may be a better option for you since you can see the kitchenette or condo amenities before you purchase. You will need to see which HOTWIRE zone the Performing Arts Center is located. You could also "buy" one night and if it meets with your approval, buy the rest of the nights as well. You would probably want to keep two browsers open at the same time....one for the first night and the second for nights 2-16.
thereuare Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! One other aspect worth mentioning, while not as much of a risk in Tampa as it would likely be in a city such as NYC or Chicago, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... you'll be three. With PRICELINE it's possible that you could receive a room with only one bed. I would suspect that for such a long stay the hotel will do whatever they can to try to accomodate you, but if a room with two beds is not a 'standard' room, there could be an additional charge (same goes for a rollaway)If you search HOTWIRE does anything come up in the zone which is within your budget (and hopefully with a kitchenette icon)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Jason's Storm Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Also being in a downtown area, you would likely have to pay for parking. So if you just happen to see a place with "free Parking" it should be tops on your list for Hotwire. Also if something gets identified here onfor HOTWIRE, might want to check their site to see how much parking is. Best of luck.~JS Jason's Storm- Making one killer deal after another.
