dahammer Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 it seems that the bidding zones have changed slightly since my last bid in this area. Brooklyn and Long Island City are now part of the New York City area, back in late February, they were part of the NYC Airports zone. As a result I was able to use typically higher priced zones within NYC as rebid zones. As usual, I started out by researching rates on HOTWIRE, the only thing available was a 2* for $215 with Breakfast and HS Internet amenities. I checked rates at the Comfort Inn in LIC and the best rate was $180. There were lower HOTWIRE rates available (3* @$125) in the LaGuardia area, but I didn't want to stay this far away. Opened my bid at $95 and used "rebid zones" up to $115 and received a counteroffer to raise my bid by $22. I increased my bid to $119, denied, then raised it to $123, success!Your Offer Price: $123.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $27.85 Total Charges: $150.85 its a little steep, but its exactly where I wanted to be and I'm happy with the rate.used the PRICELINE links to make my bids

dahammer Posted May 1, 2008 Author Report Posted May 1, 2008 ended up going to dinner at Brasilia Ville Grill in Astoria, a small neighborhood storefront that is a "pay by the pound buffet" and churrasco. This is a good option for those not wanting to go to one of those "unlimited" buffets, for around $10 or 12 you can have your fill and not over indulge.
