syllabub Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 hi everyone,I'm completely new to this, I've read the various guides and they were extremely helpful, but I'm quite nervous at doing a bid!I'll be travelling to Amsterdam on June 30th and returning home on July 3rd. We arrive by train to the central station around 7.30pm, and for the days we are there we will travel a lot by train so I would like a hotel close to the station. Looking at Priceline, the 5* Amsterdam hotels are all quite near this...except for the Hilton. Is there anyway I can prevent getting the Hilton if I did bid, by entering a certain amount? I would be willing to pay around 80 pounds per night. If anyone can give me advice on this, I would be very grateful!
WillTravel Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 No, with PRICELINE, you have to agree to anything within the boundaries of the zone and because the Hilton is in the City Center / Museum Quarter zone, you may end up getting it.However, there are a lot of attractions in the southern part of Amsterdam, so I don't think it would necessarily be so bad, and you can also take the tram.
thereuare Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! You may want to consider HOTWIRE as you can often figure out the hotel(s) beforehand, or at least avoid a particular hotel, based upon the amenities and star rating. If you search HOTWIRE, are there any hotels currently offered within your desired budget and star rating? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
