bioteacher Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 Am visiting London June 20-23. 4 adults (grandma, grandpa, 40ish mom and dad), 2 children. I get a 3 star hotel Bloomsbury Marble Arch area with the following amenities, when I submit for 1 room, 2 adults:RestaurantHigh Speed InternetBusiness CenterCan someone please ID this? I would be purchasing 2 rooms. Would these rooms be suitable for 2 adults, 1 child each? If I put in those search parameters (2 adults, 1 child, instead of just 2 adults), this hotel doesn't show up, only much more expensive hotels.Would like West End hotel, prefer 4 star, but don't want to pay more than $150 per room per night. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much in advance!
WillTravel Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 If you create a dummy package that incorporates your dates, then you can see that the Holiday Inn - Regent's Park has these Hotel features: Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet AccessThis differs from what is currently on the list for this hotel (because of the addition of High-speed Internet Access). Although these aren't unique amenities, that would be a reasonable guess. I've never seen a standard London hotel room that would fit three people, so it's not a risk I would take. In fact, if you go to the HI web site, the Holiday Inn - Regent's Park has in bold text, "This hotel has a maximum of 2 persons per room."
thereuare Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Booking a hotel room for double occupancy, when you need more than that, is a risky proposition in Europe (imo). The reason why the price goes up when you search for triple occupancy is often because you're no longer dealing with a 'standard' room. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help.
