With $119 being a good summer rate for the Extended Stay Downtown, I am not going to completely overbid. I'm headed down to Seward the day after that. However, at some point, if the rooms in Anchorage don't fill up, are the odds that they will likely allot some to PRICELINE? Link to comment
thereuare Posted April 20, 2008 Report Share Posted April 20, 2008 Yes, it's always a function of supply vs. demand.If a hotel doesn't believe they will likely sell the rooms on their own, then they'll offer to the opaque suppliers at a discount... but as you point out, that's a BIG if since its high season. It doesn't seem like too much of a deal to pay $180 for a $270 room when I am already paying $119 for ESA which on sites other than the hotel web went for up to $220. Wasilla is a free re-bid, but it still seems too early for a hotel to "give up" and release the room for $125-150. Link to comment
