TravelGuy Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 I don't know how long this has been going on, but I noticed today that PL now has the San Diego Old Town zone merged with Point Loma and Shelter Island as one zone.
bbbb Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Will this leave the Sheraton in the DT area or will it be in the new area?I hate bidding the DT area because theres a chance of getting the Sheraton (by the airport)
WillTravel Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 The merged Point Loma/Shelter Island - Old Town zone only goes up to 3*, so I bet the Sheraton is not in it. Plus, so far as I can see, the Downtown/Harbor Island zone map hasn't changed. I agree that it is unfortunate the airport and downtown hotels are lumped together.
TravelGuy Posted June 9, 2004 Author Report Posted June 9, 2004 To avoid getting the Sheraton in Downtown 4* bidding, I think the key is to keep it below $80. I can't recall a lower winning bid for that hotel. If nothing pans out up to $78, I would pause and/or consider other options.
