Priceline Hotel: 3* Westchester County (Rye-White Plains) Hilton Rye Town

I need to book a room for 04-19 in White Plains, but since Priceline refused even $71, I looked at Hotwire.

There are two hotels at ~ the same price:

$69 3-star hotel in Tarrytown - White Plains :

Complimentary Breakfast

Fitness Center

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

$68 2.5-star hotel in Tarrytown - White Plains

Complimentary Breakfast

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

High-speed Internet Access

Which one is better (if you can ID them).

And yes, I will use the HOTWIRE link once I decide :)

the 3* has yet to be reported, but HERE is another topic someone posted for the same dates. I believe the 2.5* is a match for the LaQuinta in Elmsford. I stayed here 4 years ago when it was a Wellesley Inn and it was not very nice, I'm sure that the hotel has been upgraded since then.

Well, I guess we'll find out. Since the 2.5 is not very nice, I guess I have no choice but to go for the 3*. I guess I won't lose much ...

It's a one nite stay and cheaper than just about anything else in the area, so a good time to give it a try :)

the 2.5 was up to $95 this morning, now down to 68. :) Should I wait to see if the 3 star becomes available?

damn, the hotel is back, but I already got at Priceline Hilton Rye at $75. Duh, could have saved $10 :)

yes, but you probably saved $75 compared to Hilton's direct rates! :) This is a nice hotel among lots of trees, kind of an oasis about 30 minutes from NYC.

It was entirely possible the HOTWIRE hotel may have never come back, or came back at a much higher price. Missing out $10 doesn't seem like too much of a price to pay for 'security' when you've won the hotel has less than half price. Sometimes a bird in hand...
