Hotwire Hotel: 3* Newark (Secaucus-Meadowlands) La Quinta Inn and Suites Secaucus

Winning bid on HOTWIRE, 2 rooms for one night:

Two rooms $114 per room for two rooms = 228

Taxes and Fees = 46.57

Total = 274.57

Based on the amenities icons (3 items - complimentary breakfast, fitness center, high speed Internet) I had thought this was the Hyatt Place, and was disappointed to see it was in fact the LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Secaucus. This is my first time using HOTWIRE, we'll see how it works out. By the way, there is a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Meadowlands on the nights of the 27th, 28th and 31st of July so I think that's why the prices are a little higher for those nights. When I searched for 2 adults in each room, the price was $99. It went up to $114 when we added 4 adults in each room.

the Hyatt Place is a really nice hotel with a great vibe, the new lobby is a real game changing format with a Starbucks, small bar with 24 hour food service. Don't be too put off by the LaQuinta, the rooms are really large and the location can't be beat, the Breakfast is pretty good too. You may want to ask for a room with two beds so that you won't have to use the pull out sofa...so are you going to' see The Boss?

Yes, the Boss is definitely on the agenda. We are flying up from Florida to see him (family of 8). Thanks for letting me know the LaQ is decent. Having never stayed up there I was bidding in the blind (but with helpful guidance from this wonderful site).
