mlbasham Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Hi All,Completely new to this process so I'm hoping you can help me (will happily use your links to bid.) Hubby and I have to go to NY April 14-16. Would like to pay between $150 and $175 for a 3 or 4* (which I know may be too low) but we're pretty flexible about where we stay. MTE, MTW, TS, UES, UMT-CPS, UWS are all acceptable. I would add MTS as a last choice as well if it would keep us in that price range. However, in trying to follow the Priceline re-bid system, I'm running into a problem. The areas listed in the general section where they show hotels and rates are different from those they show in the name-your-own-price section. For example, Chelsea Square is not listed in name-your-own-price section, and UES, UMT-CPS, and UWS are all collapsed into just "Upper Manhattan" in the general section. Because the zones don't match, I can't figure out what my re-bid zones are. Am I missing something--is there somewhere I else I can see the star-levels available for the name-your-own-price zones? Thanks!

mlbasham Posted March 14, 2008 Author Report Posted March 14, 2008 I should also add that I have a backup plan in place for a 3* @ $179 in Chelsea.
mlbasham Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 Okay, well not getting much response on my previous question. Maybe someone can just help me out with this. Can you confirm what the rebid zones are for 4* and 3* in NYC. I'm having trouble figuring it out because the general areas don't match the areas shown on Priceline's name-your-own-price page.
dahammer Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" or bidding site currently has 10 bidding zones, please list these below along with the highest rated hotel for each of these zones. You can do this by checking each box individually and noting the highest star rating for that zone. I would rather teach you to fish rather than give you a fish..... :)
mlbasham Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 Ohhh, gotcha! I misunderstood how they were explaining to do it in the rebid thread. I was trying to figure out star levels in the general area (where they list hotels & prices) and the zones weren't matching up w/ NYOP area. Much easier. Thanks!
