Aniket Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Looking to stay at the Holiday Inn - Santa Monica Beach-at the Pier from April 5 to 12, and spend under $100. I've read posts with people getting it in the $90 range, and would like to know the bidding strategy at Priceline...Thanks in advance!
Colfax Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 You can't bid for a particular hotel on PRICELINE. You have to be willing to accept any 3* hotel in the Santa Monica zone. Do you still want to use Priceline for this?
thereuare Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 If you're trying to target a specific property, HOTWIRE may be a better option... but still no guarantees. You can start by looking in the Hotwire Hotel List to see if this property has been reported yet... if so, then do a HOTWIRE search and see if a hotel with that star rating and amenities is offered for your dates. If so, we can then investigate further to try to confirm that is the actual you're likely being offered. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Aniket Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 Hotwire prices are well above the $100 budget...I thought I could simply follow someone's PRICELINE bidding strategy that led to Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach-at the Pier ...
thereuare Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 No, that wouldn't work... rates are date specific so their win may (or may not) have very little relevance to your own stay.As well, we have even seen people bid simultaneously for the same amount at the same time (on two differnet computers) and end up with different hotels. If you need only this hotel and have to book direct, please use the Holiday Inn link in our support page... but i assume (i haven't checked) that this propety is over $100/nite, so what do you intend to do for this stay? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
