Akiwican Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I am looking at 2 1/2 star hotels in the Lake Buena Vista or Seaworld I Drive area for May 4 - May 10. The hotels are Customer Favourites. The two hotels that have the amenities I like, including continential breakfast, only show up when I put in TWO people. Do you think I would have a problem getting TWO beds if I call the hotel after I book it? I wasnt going to tell them we actually had four people in case they try to charge us for extra people {2 adults, 2 kids} Also, do you think we would have a problem with the FOUR of us getting into breakfast everyday?

Akiwican Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 We have 2 adults and 2 kids. I'm not sure what the property is? I am pretty sure getting 2 beds will be no problem in Florida, but getting into the breakfast might be if they issue cards or something that you have to show?
micheles Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 when using hotwire, to get two beds i usually add kids into the booking even if i am not travelling with any - four people usually equates to two beds.....never been a problem yetif you try hotwire with two adults to find costand then two adults and two kids, you will see if there is any additional charge (may well not be)as for breakfast i can't say......have a good trip
Akiwican Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 No, my problem is that the hotels I am interested in do not show up if I put in four people.
dahammer Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 lets try and ID the hotels first, so please list below your dates of travel, star rating, and amenities. Your stratgegy is a little risky in that you may not get a room with two beds, but at the 2.5* level, I don't think the staff will be checking for the number of guests per room. Besides, if the kids are old enough you could always send them down and bring it back for you!! :)
Akiwican Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 Yeah, I never thought of that for the breakfast, good idea thanks! Here are the details of the hotel:Dates of travel May 4 - May 10 {we actually want May 3 - May 10 but it doesnt show up if I put in those dates {even with 2 people}2 1/2 star, Lake Buena Vista Downtown Disney areaCustomer Favourite$32 night {Reg $67.87 night}Continential BreakfastPoolLaundryFitness CentreBusiness CentreInternet Access
Akiwican Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 Here is the other one...... it is very similarSame Dates2 1/2 star Seaworld I Drive areaCustomer Favourite$33 {Regular $59 night}Complimentary BreakfastPoolLaundryFitness CentreBusiness CentreInternet Access
thereuare Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 The Lake Buena Vista property is a match for the Extended Stay Deluxe while the SeaWorld property is a match for the Extended Stay Deluxe Convention Center, so that would be our best guess for each.Note that at the Convention Center location they charge more for a room with two beds ($5/nite i think) so you would likely have to try to updade at the hotel, and will likely need to pay an extra fee per nite (if available). At the LBV location they charge the same for the one bed room vs. two bed room, but there is still a chance that you would need to upgrade at check-in and incur an additional fee. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make.Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help. Akiwican Posted March 3, 2008 Author Report Posted March 3, 2008 Thankyou very much. After much serching that is the same conclusion I came to as well for the hotels. Why do you think they dont show up when I put in 2 adults and 2 children? They are obviously big enough for a family as they are all suites with kitchens. I even tried different dates {march} and the same thing happened with more than 2 people it disappeared. Do you think they are only offering the suites with one King bed on HOTWIRE?
thereuare Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 When HOTWIRE first started it was only for double occupancy... some hotels have not, or have chosen not to update, their systems to allow for quad occupancy. HOTWIRE purchases are for standard rooms, so in the instance where the two bedded room is more expensive than the King bedded room, the purchase would almost certainly be for a room with one bed (and explains why the hotel doesn't appear when searching for more than double occupancy). With the above noted, many users have had good luck paying for an upgrade to a room with two beds when needed, but obviously this is based upon availability at check-in and you won't be able to guarantee it before your purchase. If you move forward please use our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase. If you end upu booking one of the above properties direct (so you can book a room with two beds) please use our Extended Stay link (or the one in our support page)Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help.
