thesqueegeekid Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 it is based on reverse-bidding where hotels bid on you .... they have 3,000 properties participating...http://www.hotelplanner.com/
thereuare Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 I just tried for a Seattle trip in which i already have a PRICELINE WIN and the rates that have come back so far are not even close to Priceline/Hotwire rates. Results (prices) look more like what you would typically see from Expedia, Orbitz, etc. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thesqueegeekid Posted May 26, 2004 Author Report Posted May 26, 2004 thanks for checking it out ... I was hoping for better results ... at least they offer something for groups, banquets, weddings etc...
WillTravel Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I tried this for the Labor Day weekend in Seattle and also came up with nothing. I'm fairly sure that properties by the airport or elsewhere in Seattle suburbs would be available for less than $86 USD/night, which is the lowest rate any hotel offered. Edit: Actually I see the La Quinta Inn and Suites downtown has a rate of $76/night, which is not that bad for a conventional booking. I had set a preferred limit of $50. I haven't tried bidding for this on Priceline yet, because my plans aren't firm.
