Care Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Accidentally included Alexandria - Old Town in my selection area when I was trying to book a hotel in downtown Washington. Ended up with the Westin Alexandria for $78 a night, March 19 to 24. I wish that I could cancel this reservation and start again. While the Westin would be a lovely hotel, this is in an area that I did not want to include. It was just a stupid click of the mouse that caused me to end up there. *sigh* :) I used the SavingsBarn.com link.
dahammer Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 thank you for your post, you may want to call Customer Service and in a nicey-nicey tone ask for a do-over....I have done this before and as long as you successfully bid for a room for the same dates of travel, you may get a credit. Good Luck and let us know what happens.
Care Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 thank you for your post, you may want to call Customer Service and in a nicey-nicey tone ask for a do-over....I have done this before and as long as you successfully bid for a room for the same dates of travel, you may get a credit. Good Luck and let us know what happens.I called Priceline tonight, and spoke with Mia who was not able to cancel or change the reservation. She transferred me to Bob in Customer Service, and he too was not able to change, cancel or credit my reservation. I guess that I now have to decide whether I want to keep this reservation, or make another one (which would in effect double my cost) for a downtown location. I have a lot to think about, as I don't relish the thought of a 30-minute Metro ride each way from Alexandria. However, I also do not relish the thought of paying over $900 for 5-nights accommodation for this trip. Regardless, this will be chalked up to a pricey lesson learned. :)
floridianer Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 hi,we stayed at Westin from 01/03/08 to 03/04/08 for about 70 $ per night and we were very imposed on that hotel.Alexandria isnt that far away as we thought. we took our car to visit washington d.c. and we did very well. Hotel is superb and we didnt took valet parking. there are many parking areas throughout the hotel area. Why to stay in D.c. if you have a car? enjoy your choice!!! hotel is very, very nice and new...
