decaff38 Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Gave up on Gresham . Heard some negative things about the area so I am now trying Clackamas. Same distance from where I need to be. Found a Courtyard by Marriott 2 1/2 stars /great reviews in Clackamas. -2 1/2 * Clackamas for 2/3/28/08-3/3/08 Bid 35.00 _ Just hopeful - Rejected! Not surprised-free re-bid --added Northwest - for 40.00 rejected.waited my 24 hours. -2 1/2 * Clackamas for 2/3/28/08-3/3/08 Bid 50.00 - Just want it to stick -- Rejected-free re-bid --added Northwest - for 55.00-- rejected. On Priceline the rooms go for 84.00 on their website 85.00-101.00Is there anything I can do to make this work?Tomorrow I am going to jump to 60.00 then 65.00. It will save us about 80.00 but was hoping for better since I have seen it won in Oct for 45.00.Thanks

decaff38 Posted February 17, 2008 Author Report Posted February 17, 2008 Please clarify your travel dates. I don't understand 2/3/28/08.So sorry! I was a little sleepy Feb. 28 through March 3rd. Thank you
Colfax Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Clackamas Courtyard rates:Thurs 2/28: $109Fri 2/29: $84.99Sat 3/1: $84.99Sun3/2: $114.99Some hotels have higher Priceline rates on weekdays than weekends. The $55 you've already bid could be enough for 2 or 3 nights but not all 4. Are you willing to split your bid?If so I suggest bidding $40-$55, as you already have, for just the first three nights. Then try the same for the last three nights. If one of those works you can attempt Add a Night for your fourth night. There's no guarantee Add a Night will work though, and you may have to switch hotels or pay conventional rates one night to avoid moving. Also keep in mind there's a 3* hotel in Clackamas and your 2.5* bid could be upgraded.
decaff38 Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 I did not realize that if you bid for more than 2-3 days the bid would not be accepted. So my question is about splitting my bid. If I go for 2/28 ---2/29 and then rebid for 3/1-3/3 that should do it? Of not I will just bid my rooms at regular price for what I need. We are going to Portland for an unexpected - non pleasure but required trip. We are on a fairly tight budget and I think we are ok so far. I do have a couple of other options too. Thanks for your expertise.

I was advised to bid for 2 nights at a time. Any other advice would be great. thanks so much!!!Thanks
