I'm new to this, so here is what I have done so far. I have $80 as a Max for a hotel in the LAX region of Calif. I have already bid 75 & then 80 for a 4 star and 60 and 62 for a 3 star. I'm not qiute sure if there is a big difference between 2.5 and three star, so I would like to know if I should stick to 3star and above and just raise my bid for a three star. My wife and I and 16 month old daughter are staying for 2 nights in LA before we continue on to the Philippines and we would like to have as comfortable stay as possible. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to BetterBidding, pato.

At $80/4* and $62/3* I think you're probably pretty close. Can you go to $90 for a 4*? If not can you go to $70 or $75 for a 3*?

HOTWIRE has a 3.5* (probably the Radison) for $95. Priceline rates the Radison 3* and Priceline will usually beat Hotwire at LAX.

I don't recommend bidding 2.5*. Some of the 2.5* are okay there but at least one gets mostly bad reviews.

Went up to$90 like you suggested and got it. Thank you! The other night I screwed up and hit the link for priceline thru my email and when I punched in a request of $ 88 the came back with a counter offer of $120. I didn't respond. The next day I went thru SavingsBarn and hit for $90 at the Westin. Figured I'd go the extra since we only have to rent a car for 1 day. Thanks again.
