chen Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Hi all, I am going to Jazzfest this year and I'm trying to track unsuccessful/successful bids as we progress into the spring. I know that each bid is unique but I still think it's helpful to track unsuccessful bids too, to avoid some redundancy. Post your JF results here!My bid today:Dates of Stay: 05/01/2008 - 05/04/2008Unsuccessful - 4* in DT-CC and FQI bid in $5 increments from $60 through $90, adding rebids in $5 increments. All rejected. Used PRICELINE links at savingsbarn.com of course.
thereuare Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I think it would best to stick with the board's current format. There isn't so much activity in the New Orleans forum to make it difficult to pick-out failed bids (when dates are included in the sub-topic) and with the Hotel Calendar it will be easy to find winning bids. chen Posted January 23, 2008 Author Report Posted January 23, 2008 Bid the same up to $91 on 01/22/08 - rejected.
smittypitt Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 last year jazz fest i got into the marriott waterfront for under 100. i also got into the double tree for voodoo fest for 65ish. we will see what this year brings when i finally pick my weekend
zardoz Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Last year I paid 85 for jw marriott and intercontinental (had to split stay) for 2nd week-end.. can't wait to see bids for 2nd week-end
chen Posted February 17, 2008 Author Report Posted February 17, 2008 I've been getting rejected consistently on 4* (up to $110) and 3* (up to $80) for second weekend. I got a backup so I'm going to continue to bid for 4* up to $85 until mid-april. I suspect that things will open up then.
zardoz Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I agree.. I just checked and I got my rooms April 2
1kabooki Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I've bid up to $138 4* FQ and downtown with no acceptance for 4/30-5/4/08I tried 3 * FQ and downtown up to $85 no luck. Is it probably better to wait or buy now? Does availability drop over time and prices just go up and up or do they fluctuate? Thanks in advance for your help.
zardoz Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 I haven't had ANY luck. I do have a back up, but, am hoping things open up (and that successful bidders post their bids). Bad news is that alot of hotels seem to be full...
1kabooki Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I tried FQ and downtown 4* up to $175 today for reservations 4/30-5/4. No luck.Bid on FQ 3* to $100 for 4/30-5/4. No luck
chen Posted April 10, 2008 Author Report Posted April 10, 2008 I tried FQ and downtown 4* up to $175 today for reservations 4/30-5/4. No luck.Bid on FQ 3* to $100 for 4/30-5/4. No luckI've heard of others getting the Hilton Riverside for 4/30-5/3 in the low $60's. Looks like Sat night is the stickler. If you're willing to split your bid, things could work out well for you.
1kabooki Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Thanks. Yes you are right. Hilton Riverside 4/30-5/3 for $70/night first bid. I can figure out what to do 5/4 or just stay out all night. Thanks again.Moderator- Yes, I did use the PRICELINE link above. Also, anybody have any luck with 5/3-5/4 for either a 3 or 4 star hotel FQ/downtown? I tried bidding up to $95 for 4* and $87 for 3* no luck.
