Priceline Hotel: 4* - Los Angeles from 1/19/08 to 1/21/08

I'm new to Priceline.com, thus I need your help to place a bid.

I need a room for 4, either a suite or 2 beds.

4 stars hotels from Jan 19 to Jan 21.

What should be the max bid?

What should I start the bid with?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Priceline only guarantees double occupancy. You can't bid for a suite or a room with two beds. There are a couple LA zones with likelihood (never certainty) of winning a Residence Inn on a 2.5* bid. Those are suites with pullout couch as second bed.

If you want a 4* with two beds then HOTWIRE might be a better option because on HOTWIRE you can specify a party of three or four and have two beds guaranteed.

Do you need to be in any certain part of LA? What kind of budget?

Thanks for such a detail feedback. We are looking to stay within these areas: san gabriel valley, san gabriel, montebello

As far as budget for hotel, 1 room for 4 people, we want a room in a range 130-200 per night.

Priceline doesn't offer 4* bidding in the San Gabriel Valley. You could bid for a 3* in Pasadena or Commerce-Norwalk-Rosemead zones on Priceline. Priceline rates the Pasadena Hilton and Sheraton 3*, as points of reference.

But again, Priceline only guarantees a room for two people.

Checking HOTWIRE for FOUR adults, which guarantees a room with two beds, I find three possibilities within your budget:

1) 3.5* Pasadena $134. Probably the Sheraton.

2) 3* El Monte-Rosemead-Monterey Park $117. I'm unable to identify this hotel.

3) HOTWIRE also has a 3.5* in Downey-Commerce-Norwalk (probably the Doubletree in Commerce) for $59, but that price is for two people. When I add a third person the hotel disappears. Still, at $59 per room, you could purchase two rooms within your budget.

thank you for your help. We ended up booking our hotel through Hotels.com as we need to have a room for 4 persons. We got the Marriott Courtyard for 104 per night for 2 queen beds.
