Lrapki1 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 I need 3 more nights from jan 14th to jan 17th, hoping for USE, but looking for the best deal
thereuare Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Did you include these dates on your previous Priceline San Francisco bidding? If so, how high did you bid when including these dates? What is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept? How high are you willing to bid before considering other nearby zone(s)? Lrapki1 Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 We originally tried for 6 nights with different prices, when they failed we decided to chop it up into two. The first 3 nights we recieved instantly. And it said we could add three more nights to it, but then when we clicked on it we were unable to do so. We also called and priceline told us that we would be un able to add nights and we should place another bid. We have placed a couple more bids for union square east, west, and fishermans wharf. All between 87-115. I did not really want to go too much higher than that. I would like to keep it at 4*
thereuare Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 So if you have already bid up to your maximum at your minimum star rating, there is not much else you can do other than wait it out (and hope prices come down... keeping in mind that they can go up further while you continue to wait)Have you figured out a back-up plan as to what you will do if unsuccessful with priceline? Lrapki1 Posted January 3, 2008 Author Report Posted January 3, 2008 We also just tried bidding for USE and USW for $90 for 1/14-1/17 and was rejected. This was for a boutique. Do you have any suggestions for boutiques?
Colfax Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 I checked your dates on BetterBidding's Priceline Calendar of Wins and I see another poster, singloud26, won the Mark Hopkins in USW at $140 for your exact dates, after $130 was rejected. You've bid to $115 for a 4* and $90 for Boutique. If you have the patience I'd suggest wait until Monday and try Priceline up to $115 for a 4* once again. You might be bidding a little early. If you're eager to settle this now HOTWIRE has some options for a little more than you've bid so far:4* Nob Hill $139 (probably Mark Hopkins)3.5* USW $138 (probably Warwick Regis)3.5* FW $129 (probably Sheraton)
Lrapki1 Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 Thanks, I will try to stick it out til monday!!
Lrapki1 Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 If that does not work, what would you suggest on a 3* hotel in the same area?
Colfax Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 I'd start around $70 for a 3* in USE. Then add Civic Center (a free rebid zone since it only has hotels up to 2.5*) and bid $75 or $80.Since you said 4* in FW was allrite you might consider 3* in FW too, bidding the same $70-80 range as USE.If you really want the 4* in USE though I think you have enough time to try for that again early next week before you bid for less preferred options. If you're eager though try the above.
Lrapki1 Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 I actually found a good deal through hotwire. I had been checking it on and off with nothing really worth the money, but last night I found $94 in UNW. Very happy, for two nights 1/14-1/16. :) We got the Parc 55 hotel.

Lrapki1 Posted January 5, 2008 Author Report Posted January 5, 2008 1/14- 1/16 $94 a night- $188Taxes- $35.07Hotel Total- $223.07I also did go through the HOTWIRE link posted. Thanks!
Colfax Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 Congrats, Lrapki1. The key to your win was eliminating the last night of your three night stay. That $94 at Parc55 is available your first two nights, but not the third. Do you still need a room for January 16?
thereuare Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I also did go through the HOTWIRE link posted.THANKS!! :)Can you also please list the amenities shown before your purchase, you can still view them as follows:...going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link neaer the top of their home page.
