christycruz Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 So I managed to finally get a priceline bid accepted by narrowing down to a Friday night request ($101 for 1/25/07), when I need Tuesday - Friday nights. I also accepted Priceline's Thursday night $134 offer (I had already tried all previous dates at $101, so figured I'd just save time and not test all the iterations between $101 and $134).So now I need to still bid for nights of Tues. 1/22 and Weds. 1/23. Any suggestions? Should I start the next bidding at $134? Or just slightly higher than $101? Is the "extra night" offer from Priceline generally a good deal? Thanks for any assistance.

christycruz Posted December 3, 2007 Author Report Posted December 3, 2007 My other two nights are at the 4* Brown Hotel. I'd like to try to get the same hotel for the first two nights. My conference hotel is $161, so I'd rather not go over $150.
thereuare Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Rates for the first two nites of your stay (which you're not trying for) are more expensive than the last two nites of your stay (which you've already won) so the chances of you receiving the same hotel are reduced somewhat, but can't say what the chances are since your previous post doesn't give your full bidding history... if you remember all your bids you can include them here and we can comment further. It's not recommended to split your bid if you're really not interested in changing hotels during your stay.I assume the conference hotel is not the Brown? Where is the conference hotel? What would be a worse scenario for you... overibdding and receiving a different hotel, or getting a better price at a different hotel and never knowing if you could have received the same hotel if you had bid more?
