IBDP Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 Yesterday I bid up to 170.00 for 3 areas of Boston: Downtown, Waterfront, and Copley. No success. Does anyone know if something big is going on during that time, as hotel prices on Expedia, etc. seem to be through the roof. I need to bid again at 6 p.m. EST today, so could use some help prior to that. Thanks in advance,Donna
thereuare Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 The New England International Auto Show is being held from 11/27-12/2 with 85K attendees... very large for Boston. What is your maximum bid for this stay? Can you stay at an outside location with T access? You can book the Four Points Logan for $98.55 thru the Four Points Logan Website or for $98/nite thru Quickbook. Reviews are mixed (appears some rooms are better than others, which is why for the few extra cents may be worthwhile booking directly thru their website), but for the savings may be worth it, and the hotel has a 24 hour shuttle which will take you Logan Airport or to the T stop.Thoughts? IBDP Posted November 26, 2007 Author Report Posted November 26, 2007 Thereuare,It seems that great minds think alike. :) Last evening I decided the Boston bid would be very expensive and, since we are going to be at the Harvard hospitals, I put in a bid for a 21/2* in Brookline. I was 98% sure it would be the Courtyard by Marriott; Most Courtyards fit my needs very well. My first bid of $99.00 acheived that. I wonder if I could have bid less and succeeded?Thank you for your helpDonna
thereuare Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Congratualtions on your success!Glad you found something which will serve your needs and not break your budget... thank you for sharing your results with the board.Since there is no "brookline" zone i've added Cambridge to the topict title as the zone you selected; if this is not correct please let us know.Enjoy your stay.
