dahammer Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 started bidding in the Secaucus zone, I figured that this would be a slow night for business travellers and hoped to get a lowball offer accepted. Was rejected up to $70 at the 2.5* level in Secaucus-North Bergen hoping to get the Hyatt Place or upgraded to the Crowne Plaza, or Holiday Inn. Started a new bid in Secaucus- North Bergen @ $75 at the 3* level and received a counteroffer to increase my bid by $22. I started a new bid at the 3* level and added Jersey City, assuming that the Hyatt (which was $133 on HOTWIRE) or Doubletree would not accept such a low bid.....I was wrong :) Your Offer Price: $80.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.26 Total Charges: $100.26 I would have preferred to get something in Secaucus, I probably should have added Meadowlands-Rutherford during rebidding, but to get the Hyatt at this rate is pretty good. The rack rate at Hyatt is $259. I was offered to add a night for the same rate. Parking is usually a pain in this area, but I was pretty lucky parking on the street in the past as the meters were "off" between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM.Made my bids through Savingsbarn.com
