amitks.jain Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Hello, I apologise if this topic should not be in this forum. My wife and her friend were trying to bid for some 4* hotels in Vegas for Priceline. They chose the wrong side of the strip in priceline and got the Monte Carlo resort for 120 $150 a night for 7 nights. The hotel website gives the same room for along with some freebies ( drinks and free buffet ) for 90 140 bucks a night. Needless to see the offer was accepted. I dint want to stay in that hotel + the bid price is more than the normal price. As per the contract I cannot cancel this bid. Is there anyway I can oppose these prices or now I am stuck with this room with high prices? Thanks for your help.
powerplantop Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 You missed this rule.If you have a problem with Priceline or Hotwire Customer Service we're more than happy to give our opinion on the situation and suggest a recommended course of action.HOWEVER, please remember the spirit of this board is sharing information. Before posting your problem, please make sure that you have separately posted your 'win' to the board. If you post your win then bump this up then you will get replies.
tilepusher Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 If the $90 rate is available to the general public, then contact Priceline (800-PRICELINE) within 24 hours of the time your bid was accepted and they'll refund the difference.
iamfrugal Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 You missed this rule.If you post your win then bump this up then you will get replies.I basically had the same happen. So much for customer service.they literally blocked my emails so as not to address my complaint.Unless it is a quality issue(which I have obtained refunds on) good luck. :)

thereuare Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 Non bid price on Monte Carlo on Priceline is $90 for the four nights mentioned above. The stay you posted above is for seven nites... can you clarify the dates, as i don't see the $90 rate at the Monte Carlo website when searching for the seven nites of 2/18-2/25. amitks.jain Posted October 25, 2007 Author Report Posted October 25, 2007 The stay you posted above is for seven nites... can you clarify the dates, as i don't see the $90 rate at the Monte Carlo website when searching for the seven nites of 2/18-2/25.I apologise...just confirmed with my wife...The rate we got was 150 a night not 120 ( she was aiming for Bellagio) and I checked the website on priceline and they have it 140 too. So I guess we got the bid just above the list price. I called up Priceline and they said they will not be able to honor my request. According to them the list price can change anyday and hence does not matter. I would not like to pay 150 a night in Monte Carlo. On that note...I cannot edit my earlier post. I was typing while at work and wrote stuff completely wrong. Can I change it to reflect the correct price
thereuare Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I've changed your prices above to reflect actual amounts.Priceline should refund you $10 per nite based upon their best rate guarantee (depending upon when this purchase was made... the current terms of the Best Rate Guarnatee require you contact them within 24 hours of your purchcase, since as they point out, rates can, and do, change)Other than the above i don't think there is much you can do, as you (or your wife) chose the bid amount, minimum star level, and zone... priceline found a hotel within those parameters and has fufilled their end of the agreement.
