Colfax
A new hotel for the Seattle Hotel List.Extended Stay America Northgate13300 Stone Avenue NorthSeattle, WA 98133This area wasn't my first choice but I was bidding the night before my arrival and failed up to my $55-60 limit in several other zones. Rejected bids:$60/2.5* Lake Union$60/2.5* Downtown$55/2* Downtown$50/1* Downtown$55/2.5* Bellevue-Redmond$55/2.5* University-NorthgateNot a nibble until I tried $40 for 2* in Univ-Northgate and got a $12 counteroffer. I added Downtown at $45...no. Added Lake Union at $46...yes. $46 was the low price then, to the dollar.Extended Stay's regular price was $79.99. Hotwire had what I think is the same hotel for $56.I'm surprised at how high hotel rates are in Downtown Seattle more than a month after tourist season is supposed to be over. And no special events going on that I know of. Even the 1* hotels I checked were over $100/night. Travelodge Space Needle was $109 and the Downtown Days Inn $119. Hotwire had a 2* in Pike Market zone for $79 and a 1* in Space Needle zone for $73. Contrast this to Downtown Portland, where you can usually win a 3* Downtown on Priceline for $55 or less.Bids placed via SavingsBarn. Link to comment
