elles Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Hello bidders, I do not see many reports on Key West. I want to try to book a resort around 80$ a night. Is that a realistic thought? I do not read real good reviews about the 3* hotels, but since I never been in Florida I am open to every suggestion. Any help is very much appriciated. Elles, the Netherlands
thereuare Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Key West is typically a tough zone to win, and $80 isn't typcially enough for a Resort class hotel. Is this your maximum bid for this stay? bellisq Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 That is Thanksgiving weekend, Wednesday through Sunday, Thursday being the big day and Friday being the biggest shopping day of the year. I think the average rate for a medium hotel in Key West is $300 - 350 during high tourist time which starts November 1. Key West is lovely, but very small and getting more expensive at every turn. There are hardly even any dumps left there. You should book for those dates before you come because it is the highest travel time of the year as it is non-denominational. That's my 2 cents worth and i live very close to the Keys. You might find a lower price hotel on the ocean somewhere small like Ormond beach.
elles Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 wow,..that is so good to know....especially that weekend will be a difficult one...I thought that in November it was still possible to get something without booking, but during thanksgiving I guess it's tricky, read: impossible! Thanks for your helpful advise!Elles
bellisq Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 check out the Priceline Key West post for Nov. 22, it is not a bad place.
