Priceline Hotel: Any idea of price range for 3*-4* Dec.09-Dec.14,2007 San Francisco

I will have a trip to San Francisco from Dec.09 to Dec.14, 2007.

My maximum bid is about $100. Can I expect a 3* or 4* hotel?

My preferred area is Union Square East or West.

I haven't checked rates for those dates but usually it's possible to win a 3* or Boutique in USE or USW for under $100. A 4* under $100 is much less likely, but still possible.

Sometimes winning a five night stay is difficult. But you have plenty time to try for five nights first before you think about splitting your bid.

Hotwire has USE/USW 4* for $139/$149 and Embarcadero for $134. At those rates you should be able to bid under $100 and be successful. Personally, I would book the Embarcadero hotel, which appears to be the Omni, at HOTWIRE's rate. Nothing wrong with the Hiltons, Westins, et.al., but the service at the Omni is second to none.
