cober6711 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 I kept bidding around $78 for 4 star hotels over the course of a few days hoping to NOT get the Renaissance (due to their minimum check-in age of 21). With no 4 star hotels seemingly interested in my bids, I switched to 3-star (hoping to avoid the Marriott due to the same problem as the Renaissance), and for days it didn't even accept a bid of $80.00Well, almost giving up and using points to my stay, the Sheraton Station Square FINALLY accepted my bid of $78 for a 3-star.Looks like its got some real bad reviews on TA, but staff on the phone gladly accepted a request for a king bed, and told me I might be getting a suite because of my SPG gold.Seems this is one of those rather generous hotels that treat gold and platinum members very well, like the Sheraton on the Falls.Lets hope all goes OKNote: The '21 and older' rule doesnt ALWAYS apply. There are apparently laws in some states that prohibit those under 21 from getting a hotel room. Pennsylvania is not one of them, although some hotels do have this rule anyway (seems like this is the case for all Marriott-owned properties). The Sheraton Station Square told me their minimum age was 18.Regardless if I got the Marriott or Renaissance, I'd be able to have someone over 21 with me at check-in. Besides, I DOUBT the Sheraton would even bring my age up due to my gold membership unless there was some kind of occupancy law.
