msquared
My $125 for 10/14-10/17 BH was rejected. Wondering if someone can suggest a strategy for rebid - I don't want to change area or stars....Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid for this zone for this stay? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
msquared
I'm willing to go to $175 but would rather not if I don't have to ;-) Link to comment
Lyman
Just last night I finally won a priceline bid for $130 in that same zone. Keep trying and good luck! Link to comment
thereuare
Given Lyman's win for a subset of your own stay, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? If so, how much would you need to save to make that worthwhile?Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. msquared
For such a short trip, I'd rather not move hotels. So maybe I should just keep bidding at a higher rate in the same area? Should I add a zone where there are no 4*s?Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level you have 5 re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I'd proceed as follows:Select 4* BH...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone... (<--already bid today, so start with next line)Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zoneBid $135, if rejected add re-bid zoneBid $140, if rejected add re-bid zoneBid $145, if rejected add re-bid zoneBid $150.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. Lyman
That's pretty much the strategy I used, only I started a little lower. Link to comment
msquared
Well, I just did 5 rebids going all the way up to $170 and got turned down. I think that its likely that splitting up into two bids might be my next option. I'm guessing that one of my nights is probably booked solid and screwing up the rest of the bid. Link to comment
thereuare
I'd try as follows:Select 4* BH...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145.For the following date combinations:10/14-10/17 (if still within 24 hours since your last bid then skip this date)10/14-10/1610/15-10/17Let us know if bidding for the partial dates changes the outcome. Colfax
Do you know about Priceline's Add a Night feature? You can use it to add one or two nights at the Mondrian, at the start of your trip or the end, providing Priceline has availability. Link to comment
