As someone once said "...fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again."

I've got to make this the last time I use Hotwire except when I'm purchasing the known quantity of La Quinta Fresno when my Priceline bids don't take.

Since Priceline couldn't guarantee a room for three, I thought it best to go with Hotwire. Especially since they listed a 3 and Priceline topped out at 2. But after filling out the credit card info, Hotwire said the deal was no longer available. Yet when I returned to the search, there it was. I tried three times before "giving up" and going with the two star. (This was a last minute trip, with my mother deciding she wanted to go along to, so I was under deadline to get a reservation.)

It was after getting the answer, I realized HOTWIRE links Visalia, my destination, with Tulare. So I was an extra drive to and from my destination and the AAA price is $3 cheaper.

1 room(s) @ $76.00 per night x 1 night(s) $76.00

Taxes, recovery charges, and fees $16.11

Total $92.11

AAA rate:

1 night (1 Room): USD 81.00

Taxes: USD 8.10

Total: USD 89.10

To do so properly we'll need the amenities shown before your purchase, which you can still view by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY STUFF link near the top of their home page.

Thanks.

I just did a dope slap!! The Visalia Holiday Inn gives a rate of $69.50 with the Entertainment Card. And with no fees, it comes to $76 a night.

The Visalia Holiday Inn gets high reviews and was 6 minutes closer to my destination in Hanford.

Live and learn. :)
