Colfax Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Thanks to Synxes for reporting his Courtyard win on Friday 9/21. I saw his post just before I bid the same zone for Saturday 9/22 and it was helpful having some bidding guidance, especially as there aren't any free rebid zones for 2.5* in East Bay and I was bidding less than 24 hours before my stay.Synxes reported he won the Courtyard at $45 on his first bid. I tried a little lower first, $42, and was rejected. I added Berkeley-Emeryville at $45 and Priceline took that. (2.5* in B-E zone usually requires $55 or more so I felt comfortable using B-E as if it were a free rebid.)This was a typical Courtyard, which by me is a good thing. Everything comfy and everything worked. Just off the 680 with many restaurants and stores within walking distance. They gave me a room with a full balcony, which only about 1/3 of the rooms have. Not a "Priceline room" by any measure.Standard hotel rate for 9/22 was $109.I placed my bids through the PRICELINE link at SavingsBarn.com.
