It's often hard to keep in mind all of the options for getting from one city to another in Europe. But if you look, you can very often fly between cities for total fares of 20-40 Euros. Some of the budget carriers do use airports that are located a fair distance from the actual city, but many of these airports are actually quite convenient. In addition, because these airports are small and little-used, it is often very quick to get in and out of them.
