Kas
I need help as i have never used this site before. I am looking to book a room in a 3 or 4 star hotel for tomorrow 09/01 to 09/02 in Portland OR (Around downtown). How best should i use priceline bidding for this. Any advice or help is appreciated. thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! To begin, look at how Priceline divides this area. Can you accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded region of the downtown zone (as defined by the boundaries of their shaded region). Is there any other area you're willing/able to accept other than the Downtown zone?Next, what is your maximum bid? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or are you instead looking for the least expenisve 3* or better hotel?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Kas
Yes i can accept anywhere with the downtown area. I want a good 3* hotel and would not mind a 4star. My max bid would be about 90 for a 4 star and about 75 for a good 3 star. Thanks Link to comment
Colfax
Availability looks a bit tight in Downtown Portland tomorrow. A couple 4* hotels are sold out including the Benson, and other 4* rates are higher than usual. (Paramount $194, Vintage Plaza $219). And HOTWIRE only has 1* and 2* availability in their Greater Downtown zone. You have seven free rebid zones when bidding for a 4*. If you need help determining your free rebid zones please ask. I suggest that you bid $70 for a 4* Downtown, then raise $3 per free rebid to your limit. If that fails someone will supply a 3* strategy. Link to comment
