IBDP Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Began at $75.00 downtown. added rebids of $95.00 then $100.00 to get the Omni Parker House. Was hoping for something closer to the North End, but this will be fine.

Was hoping for something closer to the North End, but this will be fine.Actually, the Omni isn't all that far from the North End. With the Big Dig complete (and the old elevated highway removed) much of Boston appears closer to the North End than previously. It's really no further, but now much easier to get to as you are dealing with surface streets and not highway on/off ramps. You ought to be able to walk to the North End in 15 minutes tops.
