WillTravel
(You may have to register.)http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...eferrer%3DemailThe article lists various charming hotels that sound interesting. I have seen most of them listed in guidebooks or on Eurocheapo.com.It's not at all difficult to find a hotel in Paris with rooms under $150. So perhaps this article sets the bar too low. However, the article does seem to focus on hotels that both possess some measure of charm and a reasonable quality standard, and this does cut down the available options. But the article does not mention various discount web sites that we have discussed on this forum, which would be an obvious place to look if you want to cut down expenses. Several of these hotels are not even that central. In short, there's a good chance you can do better than the article suggests. As the article mentions, air conditioning in budget hotels (and in hotels under $150/night) is not the norm in Paris. If it's present, it might not be reliable. Finding a place with reliable air conditioning was my main stumbling block when trying to find a suitable cheap hotel in Paris. Link to comment
