bturner13 Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Gleemonex, I am curious about how you rate this Fairfield Inn. Some Fairfield Inns are coming up as 1 * hotels on PL. Please let us know when you return.Tks! :)
gleemonex Posted March 24, 2004 Author Report Posted March 24, 2004 really? coming up as 1-stars? that's interesting.i will be sure to give a review when i return.
bturner13 Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 Yes, I too thought it was quite interesting. Take a look at my 13 Mar 04 post for the Atlanta Airport 1* Fairfield Inn.Oh, was $26 your first bid? Tks! :)
gleemonex Posted March 24, 2004 Author Report Posted March 24, 2004 yep. $26 was my first bid. probably could've gotten it a few bucks cheaper, but since flagstaff has no free re-bid zones at this star level...
djohannw Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I've stayed there last August and found the place to be decent. While it is not among the Ritz Carltons of this world, it was a clean room with friendly people and a very decent continental breakfast. The bath was also what one would expect from a two star. Also my Marriott silver card gave me a room on the third floor which had interior corridors vs. exterior on floor one and two.We just stayed one night there on our way to Las Vegas and were more than happy with the place. 2* is very appropiate.Greetings - Dirk
ShibuyaJon Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 it is definately a 2* hotel. I prefer the La Quinta which also has come up 2* on PL, but this fairfield is ok and worth the $26.
gleemonex Posted May 12, 2004 Author Report Posted May 12, 2004 i've been back a few days now, so here's my impressions (which i'll also add to my forthcoming review).the room was clean, bathroom on the small side, bed not all that comfortable (but passable).the bottom two levels are outside corridors (motel-style), while the top level is interior -- weird.decent small free breakfast in the morning. very nice and accomodating staff. worth the $26. the la quinta is a nicer property, but i really didn't care much for the customer service there this most recent stay. i couldn't get a non-smoking room and the room literally stunk with that horrible stale smoke smell.
