jordy Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 We are arriving in San Francisco on July 11 and leaving July 15.We are 2 adults and 2 little girls.I am considering a 4 star in Union Square West for 106.00 per night or a 3 star in Japantown-Civic Center North for 79.00 per night.Any idea which hotels they might be, any opinions as to which would be a better bet and could there be any hidden fees I am unaware of. I'm trying to make the best choice for my family but am trying to cinserve money for the rest of our trip. Thanks for the sight and any help.Jordy

thereuare Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Welcome to BetterBidding! The 4* hotel is a match for both the Hilton Towers and the Hotel Nikko, so either of those would be our best guess. The 3* hotel is a match for the Opal so that would be our best guess for that property. Please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 The Japantown-Civic Center North is a match for the Opal. The 4* USW is probably the Hilton or Nikko. Those particular amenities could describe some other USW hotels too though. Will you be driving? Parking at the Opal is $25/night while the USW hotels will charge more like $40-50/night. The Opal also includes a free breakfast every morning, another $30 or so savings per day compared to purchasing breakfast for four in Union Square. The Opal is about a mile from Union Square but there are good public transit options. I've stayed there and have found it a friendly and comfortable place. The Union Squre hotels are good places too and a little more central for most tourists purposes. A cab from the Opal to Union Square is less than $8. I can't say whether the extra cost of staying in Union Square is "worth it". If you purchase either option on HOTWIRE don't forget to input "2 adults; 2 children". That will guarantee you a room with two beds. For your dates both hotels have the same HOTWIRE price for 2 people or 4.
