Whiskers Merryweather Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Used the link from savingsbarn.com. Taxes/Fees are $30.42 for the two nights. Rate on the Hyatt website is $184/night (+tax) for those nights.Initial bid was $90, got an offer to bid again for an additional $22, so I added a re-bid zone and bid $94. Happy with this one but now I need to find something for the saturday night, which will be a little more of a challenge :)
Colfax Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Have you tried Priceline's Add a Night feature for Saturday night?
Whiskers Merryweather Posted June 24, 2007 Author Report Posted June 24, 2007 Yeah, I did try the "add a night", but it didn't come up with anything.Went up to $160 for 3* and 4* and didn't get anything either.
Colfax Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 And Hotwire's only Downtown option on 7/28 is a 4* at $359!Hopefully availability will improve in the next couple weeks.
Whiskers Merryweather Posted June 25, 2007 Author Report Posted June 25, 2007 Tried for Sorrento Mesa (and others) at 2.5 stars up to $166 and still nothing. Booked the Four Points Sheraton San Diego for $162 incl tax, on Skoosh.com, which I'm fairly happy with. It's cancelable (for $10) but I doubt I'll find anything better.
thereuare Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Seems like you could have used the Four Points best rate guarantee to improve the rate a bit. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Whiskers Merryweather Posted June 25, 2007 Author Report Posted June 25, 2007 Good call. You'd think I might have noticed that Best Rate Guarantee given that it's in bright red in the middle of the Starwood web page. I guess I could still cancel and maybe save $6 or so.
