Priceline Hotel: Two Rooms?

I have never tried to bid on two rooms at one time (in NY or anywhere else). Does anyone have any experience with this? Are my chances just as good as getting one room, or will this impede me?

It's not usually in issue.

The only way it impedes you is if the hotel has only loaded one room at the available rate... therefore your bid can't be accepted since there is not enough inventory to satisfy the criteria you set when you placed your bid.

What dates are you searching for? What is your budget?

I'm doing it for a friend. It's NYC for December 6 - 9. I know that is a high season. She is finding published rates around $500. She wants to get it below $300 if possible, but up to $350 (per room). I am quite familiar with PL, but if you have any other recommendations, I'd be glad to hear them.

As a back-up you could book the Beekman Tower for ~$350/nite average. The 'problem' is that they don't availability for each room class for the complete stay above... but you could book a 1BR suite for the first two nites and then book a Studio Suite for the lats nite. At check-in they may be able to block off the room(s) for the complete stay, but if not at least they'll only need to change rooms and not hotels. (and it's just a back-up since it's in the price range and these will likely be notoriously tough dates)

Edit to Add: the above actually only works when searching for one room... inventotry already tight!

Another back-up within their budget is the Helmsley Middletowne Hotel thru Quickbook... has a petite room for $330 or a King bedded room for $340.

Jersey City (15 minute commute to Manhattan) is also a possibility well within their price range.
